We hiked out to cape falcon to maybe get a glimpse of some whales but had no luck. Thankfully we have done this hike before so we knew the views would be worth it either way 😁
If you've never been to the Astoria column I highly suggest you try and go. Climbing to the top of the column takes some effort but it's totally worth it.
University falls caught in ice. Also this image gives me an ice king game of thrones vibe and I dig it.
It seems like all the snow we were promised ended up in the gorge 😆
It was the perfect day for a mountain view.
I feel so lucky to live in such a beautiful place
It's almost my weekend and I can't wait to get back out there 😁
Green living 🌲🌿
The day started off with a 800+ foot elevation gain with no trail for .4 of a mile. Now .4 may not sound like a whole lot but when your feet are sliding out from underneath you and your forced to bear crawl because it's so steep. That .4 begins to feel like a whole lot more, we then found an old road to walk on for a bit and then we started to descend. This was only 1 of 4 waterfalls in the .4 of a mile we had left to go. It was a crazy adventure but so worth it. #parkrangerpete
The thing with waterfalls is that, the creek leading up to the waterfall is usually just as beautiful as the waterfall it self.
Usually any hike we do is around a 2 hour drive, this one however only took us an hour and we didn't have to deal with the traffic in portland! I'm going to have to start looking for more hiking spots in the Tillamook Forest. 😄
Starting 2019 off the right way look for @fighttherobots at the base if the falls 👀
If there is ever a day where you know you want to go for a hike but your unsure of where to go. The Wilson river trail never disappoints.
The best way to spend a morning before work
Green is my favorite color, and this moss was unreal
My favorite shots are the ones where you have to get your feet wet.
I promise these leaves were like that when I got there 😏😁
