Fo Guang Shan - This place was one of the top highlights of our trip in Taiwan. Just looking at the sheer size of the statues and monuments here was simply amazing to see. The caretakers here were super kind and the guests were just as humble. I recommend any travellers in this area to make sure to plan a day trip to this place! - - - - - #Foguangshan #kaohsiung #taiwan #travel #Instagood #buddah #buddism #temple #photography #canon
Elephants of Fo Guang Shan - Right at the main gates of the temple, we were greeted by a family of white elephants! This was one of the best places we've visited in Taiwan, and I really hope that you guys would also be able to see this amazing sight. I'll be sure to post more about it tomorrow! #foguangshan #buddhist #peaceful #elephants #instagood #taiwan #kaohsiung
The Anping Tree House - The living bayan roots in the area have engulfed this old warehouse in the Anping Distrit of Tainan. When we came across this amazing tree, we realized how powerful nature could be. This amazing force is still continually growing and further engulfing this old structure for years to come. I definitely would not recommend coming at night time, since it looks suuper creepy! Try not to get too close! :) #Taiwan #Taichung #anping #anpingtreehouse #Amazing #brick #tree #nature #instagood #dailyphoto
Found this amazing looking doorway that reminded me of a tomb or cave found in Egypt. Super cool how much detail was placed into the carving of each stone. This was taken at the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and is seen to commemorate Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, who was the former president of the Republic of China. Go early or you'll see tons of tourists like me! #chiangkaishekmemorialhall #taiwan #taipei #exploretaiwan #exploretaipei #Doorway #entrance
Cant believe it's been over a month since our trip to Taiwan.. This picture was taken at Yehliu Park, where the queen is still standing. They say that this great natural phenomenon won't be here forever, since nature continually takes it's toll on the base of her head. So now is a better time than never to visit! After spending almost a month, travelling from South to North of the country, I was absolutely surprised by the people and how friendly they were! Just reminiscing about this place makes me want to go back right now. Can't wait for our next trip when we have more control over the language as well. *Tip for any traveller taking this photo, I recommend lining up to get this amazing view! 我愛台灣 ! 我會回來 :) ! #Taiwan #travelcouples #yehliu #yehliugeopark #love #instatravel #explore #beautiful #world #fun #taipei #nature
We normally like to post stories of what we’re eating, but today I felt like going a bit further! I can’t believe how fun it is to cook at home and make a habit of sitting down for a meal. After being in Asia for the majority of the last 2 years, I’ve found that this is such an important part of the culture here. Being together with family and friends at the dinner table, sharing the joys of cooking, and making up with your spouse by washing the dishes :) Looking forward to coming back to Vancouver and cooking up more recipes! #instafood #yum #yumyum #delicious #lunch #sharefood #instagood #fresh #yummy #hungry #ulsan #koreanfood #southkoreanfood #homemade #homecooking #videogram #instavideo
I always walk by this sculpture about 2 times per day on my way to and from the gym. It's in front of my favourite coffee shop and I never realized how cool it looked during the night time! Wherever you go, be sure to walk the more scenic path! #streetart #ulsan #southkorea #handscoffee #photography #canon
This was one of the best experiences we came across in Taiwan. We were to create a giant lantern while drawing everything you wanted to wish for on each side. These shots were taken by our tour guide Charles, who were actually really great friends with to this day! As we were doing this, it reminded me of something pretty interesting.. We have a lot of choices in life, but i think it is more important on how we approach each one. For this example i was honestly scared at first to even touch this paper with ink. I was recalling all my art skills from back in the days of elementary school and wasn’t sure if it’d be enough. I mean.. we’re taking photos with this thing right? What if I make a mistake? The mind is funny like that :) . We really have a choice on how to approach this: We can feel scared and fix each error or we can choose to be brave and draw each stroke without regret. The most powerful part is coming to terms that both feelings are exactly the same and we have the choice on how to move forward. When we’re faced with a scary situation, just remember: There is another option! Also, for those wondering how it turned out... It was the best lantern I’ve ever seen!
