Bran Castle of Vlad Tepes the impaler, from the heart of Transylvania or how Bram Stoker name it in his book, Dracula's Castle from Transylvania, the land of vampires 🇷🇴.
Stoker’s character, Count Dracula, first appeared in the novel “Dracula”, published in England in 1897, by the Irish writer Bram Stoker. But the name “Dracula”, far from being a frightening term, derives from the Crusader Order of the Dragon with which Order both Vlad Tepes and his father had been associated. The rest of the Dracula myth derives from the legends and popular beliefs in ghosts and vampires prevalent throughout Transylvania. .

Finally finished! So let’s get into it. ‘ ‘Salem’s lot is the story of writer Stephen King, sorry I mean,Ben Mears’s return to Jerusalem’s Lot to write his new book. However he finds more than he bargained for with a vampire menace threatening to destroy everything. What I liked- the book does a really good job of painting a picture of the town. I feel like I know the streets and the people; it feels real. I also really enjoyed the vampires in this story, they were described very well and are without a doubt the scariest vampires I’ve encountered. The power given to the priest, father callahan was interesting as well. It was cool to see how the forces of good and evil collide in the king universe. Also the overall concept was amazing.
Things I didn’t like- I know everyone loved this one, but I do have a few negative things that I have to say. First and foremost being the main character of Ben Mears. I have no problem with king putting writing characters into his stories. I don’t even mind when they have some of his attributes. But Mears was described as an idealistic version of King, he even looked like him. Ben Mears had no character flaws; he had a tragic event happen to him before the start of the story but it doesn’t affect his character decisions at all. He’s a cool every-man who is an intellectual but will still have a cold beer, what a guy. And I just found him uninteresting. A lot in this book also didn’t age well, mostly some of the social views, King does admit this however. I also found the final confrontation with the main antagonist a bit anticlimactic.
Overall I really enjoyed the book, there is loads of darkness, scares, heart and interesting characters (just not Ben); and I recommend checking it out.
