Did you know that here in #mauritius, one of the most famous tea is produced by Bois Cheri?
The Bois Cheri Tea Factory was established at the end of of the 19th century by Messrs Bour and Le Breton. They produce up to 700 tonnes on 250 hectares of land and export 25 % of their production.

Yesterday I was on the life drawing classes. Last time when I was doing it was about 10 years ago when I was a student in Art School. Since that time I was drawing quite a lot but only short sketches, stories, some kind of drawing diary. But I haven't draw nude study for a very long time and this is a completely different kind of drawing than daily sketches. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I felt a bit like I was back in school and it was fun. In the beginning, we had to draw 5 short poses- 2 minutes each. The first one I haven't finished. I have not estimated time properly and left first drawing without a head 😬. In these first sketches, I could see also the stiffness of the line, but every next one was improved and lines became smooth and more confident. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Then we had 2 sessions for 45min each for the longer pose. I used this time to make a few drawings because I had a quite small sized notebook. I have drawn one detailed nude, one detailed portrait and another two shorter sketches. All with pencil. I think they look quite ok considering such a long break in life drawing but I would love to improve this skill once again. It is such a pleasure to do. Next time I will need bigger size of the paper!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

A rainy day trip to the hot springs.

It was pouring, sleeting, and blustery cold out in the redwoods today. Perfect weather for tea and soaking.

I brought some of the special stash. One I hadn't tried yet but was offered to @threetreasurestea from our friend @_theasophie was called Feral Nature. A 2018 raw puerh from Jingmai`s old tea trees.

It was such a treat. I brewed it probably 15 times before our first soak. It has gentle and rich florals with grainy sweetness and full bodied sweet huigan. It creeps up on you with its potency which wasn't overwhelming but rather consolingly present.

It's always interesting to bring a chaxi. I'm both wanting to deeply enter the tea with my friends, but also wanting to share with the curious onlookers. We drank a 1949 shuixian, fresh dongpian Qilaishan oolong, 2004 天地人 Malaysian stored raw, and a few others. In between steeping ourselves of course 😆
