(2/3) My Love day shoutout goes to my listeners ❤️😍... I’ve never liked the word ‘fan’ because it roots from the word ‘fanatic’ and to me that relinquishes the power of my listeners... I don’t like the term “followers” because I believe that my listeners and all you beautiful people who have taken the time to discover my music...you are leaders, not followers. Numbers erase faces and create a society of ingratitude for the single person. A single person can make such a monumental difference... there is power in numbers yes, but the power is in the people. ⁣⁣

Someone sent me my Spotify stats for #MrNeverMan recently (I don’t have Spotify tbh because it’s not available in Jamaica where I live)... over 15,000 streams in a very short time... and my first thought was “is this a good number?” And then I realized... jeez... Spotify doesn’t even work in Jamaica ...suppose it did? Suppose Jamaican numbers... our people...could contribute to that conversation...and even still...What do these 15,000 people look like? What do they think like, what do they feel when they hear my music... if even 1000 or 100 of those people find comfort in my music I’ve done what I dreamed of. Thank you so much for not being a number, or a follower, or a fan. Thank you for listening. ⁣⁣
