Springfontein Sportfields, Karoo (1). The debate over land and structures has become ubiquitous in the current political climate. It is an enormous subject and my ‘living with structures’ body of work considers a small part of the physical, societal and political structures that contribute to these debates on three continents. Photography projects trigger an excitement in me that goes far beyond the surface value of the image. This reaction is what has driven me to spend many years photographing physical and political structures that can reflect more than the spaces they were intended for. My tendency is to return to sites I’ve shot and repeat photographs. A way to measure change or stagnation and to see things anew. Thank you for your interest. . Después de remar por horas en canoas de madera, contemplando la majestuosa selva y ver el cielo reflejado en el agua cristalina del los lagos de Metzabok, desenbarcamos. Para caminar por pequeños senderos que nos conducían a los lugares sagrados donde descansan los antepasados de algunos lacandones de la región, aquí Juanito nos pidió profundo respeto, no tocar las osamentas ni las vasijas donde aún siguen prendiendo su copa para hacer ceremonias a sus ancestros. La comunión y el respeto. Que tienen a sus ancestros, a la Naturaleza, a cada animal es sorprendente, algo que en las ciudades modernas hemos perdido In Lak Ech.
