After going through hundreds of cotton fields with designer Ema Savahl, we were brought to a very special one with King Cotton by the cotton gin that was left last to be picked on the day we were planning to shoot. We loved the vastness of it without any obstacles and were informed :-unfortunately, it was scheduled to be harvested on a day of our planned photoshoot. Model Zoe (a 6 feet tall tennis player) was driving 3 hours away from Tennessee and a make up artist Kelly and our wonderful coordinator assistant Arthur were all driving 3 hrs late at night for this shoot. Among other fields with little cotton or short cotton we happened to love only this one that was planned to be harvested next. We were saddened and prayed and accepted the reality that we would move to any other available field yet, asking the locals to help us if we could possibly make them wait for a day so we can photograph it. Harvesting SeAson was almost over with occasional rains and was risky for cotton companies to miss a day worth of millions just for EMA SAVAHL ; and our local friends warned us - it would be impossible to request such a thing or even ask. We prayed till morning when our joyous friend showed up by our lake cabin at 6.30 am announcing the cotton company agreed to wait for 10 hrs not collecting the cotton to give us a chance to photograph our dream story. The victorious joy we had was overwhelming and we yelled and jumped in happiness. LORD PROVIDES with the help of local friends and powerful connections- what a trip. What a shoot. What a dream. Just wow.
