Today is my 5 year work anniversary at my "Day Job". Most of my followers know me through my volunteer activities in the community and through my association with I Like Her Style Vancouver. Starting with Hayes 5 years ago is what really opened my eyes to the work of small business start ups and my passion for supporting other local businesses. I saw a post on Craigs List that a local elevator company was looking for someone to assist with the admin. I applied, interviewed and when I was offered the position I jumped to take it. The company was a start up, had only one or two clients but a really awesome corporate culture and the flexibility I wanted and needed. I started helping to organize the office, and eventually was given the opportunity to help drive sales. A few years ago I was offered the opportunity to buy shares in the company so I can even say I am a part-owner :). There have been MANY changes and MANY "ups and downs" especially in the last year, at times I have wanted to throw in the towel, felt embarrassed or angry at things that have been outside of my control. But I can say with honesty I am super excited to see what this next year holds. The last few years have had a lot of great learning experiences, and have prepared us to focus this year on growing our little company organically and keeping our existing clients super happy. A changing market calls for changing strategies to market properties. Last month we hosted a self care night with amazing local female entrepreneurs in one of our listings to showcase a property in a creative and different way. We had an incredible night and it was a pleasure to see a home filled with so many bright and incredible women at once. We pride ourselves on a team that constantly thrives to come up with new and creative ways to adjust and to be a step ahead of the always changing real estate market. .
