February 20, learning new things is always wonderful!
Our son Noah has been studying Mandarin for the past four years, so the majority of our mini vacation has been centered around Boston’s China town. We’ve explored amazing restaurants, some we knew, some we didn’t. We’ve eaten lox, cannoli and Vietnamese soup, all on the same day! In searching for a trinket to bring home, I found this hanging good luck charm, and I learned the symbols for luck: Fu. Once I learned the symbols I saw them everywhere as it’s the end of Chinese New Year, and all the shops and restaurants are decorated with glittery pigs for the year of the pig, Fu symbols and more. I know that every time I see this sweet hanger I’ll remember our time here together and that’s the reason I try to bring home something from our adventures- these times are precious, and they are over so very quickly. Life is fleeting, friends, so grab your Fu with both hands this Wednesday and enjoy every moment!
