Books, books and more #books! Like we don’t have enough! On our trip we visited a cute #newused #bookstore in Canmore see pic📚. I missed a pic of my 2nd girl nose in but I have a hard time saying NO when she brings me more she wants to own... It was almost 2a.m. when I peeked(pic) to see my boy still reading!! My oldest grabbed reading early! They now challenged me to get #funreads to #relax ! You want your children to #LOVEreading more than the latest #gamingdevice (we don’t own yet) love of books needs to be demonstrated & cultivated early. On top of baskets of #storybooks as toddlers... I’ll share a couple things I did. 1) #Timeout chairs, on each side of a low bookshelf filled with tantalizing visuals & colour, they were sent to chairs with a timer (minute per age) but never reprimanded if grabbed books while there! Once timer went, mood was changed! 2) They had a whiteboard each, $1 per #chapterbook read BUT they did not #getpaid until $100 😁I swear some books they’d read like #Inkheart deserved $5-$10 so thick... Interesting... they were #honest & they took pride to keep track! It took a few years & at one point I wondered if my son would catch on then he was near 60 books it became a threat & #challenge to my #middlegirl... basically from about Grade 3 to Grade 6 (3yrs) when they finally got paid!!! To think we stayed #consistent even when #lifehappened ! Now, they excel - they even have rules anything less than 150 pages is a 1/2 book... In Grade 5 my son was graded as having a high school reading level... in previous posts I share my girls getting awards in #school. Giving them that #strongfoundation & #passion for reading at a young age before #teenagelife fills with busyness/ harder homework... Sweet benefits, language/academic/thinking skills... I #ThankGod He put that #intentionalparenting conviction in me... to think it stemmed from barely graduating due to #bilingual setback (forgot most of my English after living in #Belgium). I #homeschooled first grades, taught them to read, write etc. A desire to give them #opportunities ! I never expected this #success my few fish God multiplied!!! Do what works for you but #value hands on reading🌟.

Hoe hard ik Cambodja en zijn curry’s mis 😩🧡 Vorige week maakte ik zelf een curry met restjes die ik nog had en hij was zo lekker dat ik het met jullie wil delen 🤤
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• 1 aubergine
• 1 rode paprika
• 200g champignons
• 2-3 wortels
• 1 courgette
• 2 plakken ananas
• 1 blok tofu
• Maizena
• 1/2 blik linzen
• 1 blik kokosmelk light of een half blikje aangelengd met water
• 2 grote eetlepel rode curry pasta
• 1/2 blik tomatenblokjes
• 1 rode ajuin
• 1 grote el pindakaas
• 1 Kl lemon grass pasta
• Kurkuma, gemberpoeder lookpoeder, Piment d’espelette, gedroogd citroengras
• Lente-ui, limoen en pindanoten
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Bereiding:
• Laat minstens een halfuur op voorhand de tofu uitlekken
• Snij de tofu in plakjes en strooi er maizena over
• Bak krokant in olie en zet opzij
• Was en snij alle groenten
• Bak eerst de ajuin en voeg dan de rest van de groenten toe. Tip: sommige groenten zoals wortels hebben een langere gaartijd, dit kan je makkelijk oplossen door ze eerst kort in de microgolf te laten garen.
• Zet op een lager vuur en voeg de linzen, kokosmelk, tomatenblokjes, pindakaas, ananas, gebakken tofu en currypasta toe. Roer goed.
• Voeg alle kruiden naar smaak toe
• Laat enkele minuten pruttelen op een laag vuur met deksel
• Voeg nog lente-ui, enkele pinda’s en limoen toe. Serveer met of zonder rijst.

Laat het smaken! Maak je geen zorgen indien je niet alle ingrediënten in huis hebt, de smaak zal misschien wat anders zijn maar zeker even goed 🥰
