We are excited, ministry Both Bernice and Julian (@ministryofcloudswines ) are coming back to town for our next dinner in July to guide us through their very special vinous journey and tell the story of their brand that they’ve built from the ground up. These two are making some off the most scintillating single variety wines to come out of Australia right now! Not only will we be tasting the new releases, we will be benchmarking them against some older wines as well all matched to a superb Ian Curley Menu. WHEN: Thurs 18th July Bookings via @eventbriteanz Or 👆🏼Link above👆🏼

Kiara’s pouting Frankland Estate ‘Isolation Ridge’ Shiraz, Frankland River WA. Initially brooding and dark, opening up to a bright fresh finish - a bit like Melbourne’s weather today. 18/gls @franklandestate

That's two days. I'm essentially Pro.
“munchin n crunchin” - silky ganache, most hated queen of 2019
Hanae’s pick for today is the 2018 Commune of Buttons ‘Gloria’ Pinot Noir from the Adelaide Hills. It’s bright, light and fresh with notes of sour cherry and ripe raspberry. We recommend you enjoy it with our duck and ham hock terrine. 17/gls

2017 ‘Old Vine’ Shiraz from Simão & Co in Rutherglen. One of four Victorian producers in the running for the 2019 @younggunofwine Award. Head inside to help celebrate this young gun, and try some other wines from young talents on the rise. @simao_and_co_wines
Melbourne, we’ve arrived! After spending the coldest day in May here since 2000 I’m right in the mood now for reds and cosy wine bars. Last night we headed to the perfect spot @kirkswinebar and shared this top notch Australian Sangiovese from Heathcote Victoria🍷👌🇦🇺 ••• 2012 Foster e Rocco Riserva Sangiovese is a silky, savoury and juicy wine coming from one of Australia’s best plots for Sangiovese, the Greenstone Vineyard. Medium bodied with fine tannins and notes of dusty black cherry, bramble and currant, aniseed and dried oregano, hints of tobacco, black tea leaf, mocha and leather. ••• Made from Brunello clone Sangiovese this wine was a real treat, with only 75 dozen made, released after 5 years of age and only twice so far. ••• More wines, wine bars and wineries to come 🙌🏼🍾🍷 🍇 •••
We have a soul warming special today. Beef Bourguignon cottage pie, carrots & brussel sprouts. Complimented perfectly with the glorious 2016 Saint-Joseph Domaine JC Marsanne, Syrah. $21/gls straight from the magnum
Outside it’s freezing but we’re still drinking Riesling. The 2017 Greenhouse Knight ‘Weisse’ from the Yarra Valley is a ripper.
The Butchers Block is a traditional Barossa blend of Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvédre. Notes of dark plum, cassis & spice. Enjoy with warm comforting meals, perfect on nights like these. $13.5/gls
The winter chill has arrived early in Melbourne... Lucky we’re always prepared for moving the party inside.
Lazlo is back from Japan... and he’s pouring a local favourite, the delicious new ‘ancestrale’ pét-nat from @bertrandbespoke L’Ecume du Jour. Sunday afternoon well spent, $15.5/gls @islyon📷 @lazlotheodoreevenhuis
